And here comes another one...

I've been going through my RSS feeds for over an hour now, and I'm still not finished! Lol! That's what I get from being a lazy net surfer the past weeks.

Anyway, yesterday hit me with another lesson in negotiating work assignments. Actually, I could bonk myself on the head since this is something that anyone with common sense already knows. I know it, too. But I guess I was just too slow on the uptake yesterday lol!

To make a long story short I sorta got myself involved in another project yesterday. Yes, that's on top of the main project I'm doing now, and some stuff I'm doing for the development of some process engineering tools our company wants to use in the future, and another minor part-time role in another project. Hahahaha! T_T

How did I get myself into this? One of the managers approached me yesterday, asking if I would be willing to help in communicating the scope of a new upcoming project to my colleagues at home. I thought, "I guess there should be no problem. Just one or two meetings with the lead project key person, a few items for clarification, and then one or two e-mails and phone calls to the people back in the Phils., and we're done! No sweat!". And so I told the manager I'd do it.

Big mistake. Lol! Turns out I didn't understand the scope all that well at all. After getting my affirmative answer, the manager stood up and told me to come with him. He asked the new project's KP to come with us as well. And off to the meeting room we all trooped. Then we called up one of the team managers in our Philippine HQ, and started a mini-teleconference to inform them of the new project. What made me do a mental double take was when the manager described the role I would be playing in the new project. Turns out I wouldn't just be relaying to the engineers at home the scope of the project, I'll be coordinating for them for almost the whole project's duration!! Whaaaattt!!! Hahahaha!

Haaayyy.. I've always been a big advocate of the word, CLARIFY, CLARIFY, CLARIFY! And it seems this time I wasn't able to put that concept into practice. I should have reclarified with the manager what my scope would be, repeated what he said back to him before giving him my yes. Hahahaha!

Oh well, okay lang. I'll just think of this as another challenge and learning opportunity. And maybe my role won't be too busy. I hope. ~crosses fingers~.

Pero ha, ayus yung style nung manager. Clever way to delegate jobs to your people hahaha! Magamit nga minsan.... ~evil laugh~

Wala Lang Uli..

The Sonnet
Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLDf)

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?

Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.

Your exact opposite:
Genghis Khunt

Random Brutal Sex Master
Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.

You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

ALWAYS AVOID: The 5-Night Stand, The False Messiah, The Hornivore, The Last Man on Earth

CONSIDER: The Loverboy

Anniversary

Wow. It's October 1. By tomorrow I'll have been in Japan for a year already. Well, technically, since I DID go home for a few weeks last Christmas. But still, time flies by so fast! Feels like I've only been here for a few months.

And what other fitting way to mark my first anniversary of being in Japan than by starting on a new project? Yep. Tomorrow, new project. New teammates. New challenges, the first one of which is gonna be to move all the clutter I've accumulated in my work area the past year to my new desk..hahaha! So that'll take up most of my time tomorrow.

What saddens me actually is to think that in a few months I'll be leaving Japan. I'll miss it like crazy. But what can I do? Lol!

Anyway, Happy Japanniversary to me!! (cheesy! hehehe!) It's been a great experience so far =)
