Smaller and smaller
This link from slashdot.org is really, really interesting. Imagine molecular transistors... wow! every gadget we own now has the potential to become smaller. Handhelds would probably have the computing power of desktops, the I-pod mini could soon be the I-pod micro, and our already fast-shrinking cellphones would have more room to... well... shrink!
What I like best though is the foreseeable immediate application of this new technology... medical sensors which doctors can use to diagnose certain maladies by detecting the presence of certain molecules. Don't you just think that's so "Star-Trekky"? =)
I wonder what it feels like to be the one to develop such ground-breaking technology? Makes me wish I were smart enough to invent something as useful as that.
